About Castra Rubra

Castra Rubra winery is located in the Kolarovo village, Harmanli Municipality. “Castra Rubra” is named after an early Byzantine fortress, which was discovered in the area of Harmanli Municipality during archaeological excavations in the summer of 2007. The name means “Red Fortress” and is located on the ancient road “Via Diagonalis”, which is connected Rome with Constantinople.

Castra Rubra winery is the second winery owned by Telish Co., the first of which carries the name Telish.
