Telish company is a leading producer of wine, which owns two wineries in Northеrn and Southern Bulgaria. Since 2005 the company joined its efforts with the leading French enologist Mr. Michel Rolland, who in the capacity of an exclusive consultant of the two wineries controls the processes of winemaking and the care of vineyards.

The old winery was created in 1960 and is situated in the village by the same name Telish in Northern Bulgaria. It combines the classic technology of concrete tanks with the contemporary winemaking.

The newly realized winery is situated in Southern Bulgaria and fulfills all requirements of contemporary winemaking regarding the production of high quality wines. It’s the first step of an ambitious project, which also includes the creation of 250 ha of vineyards for the purpose of reaching maximum grape quality (110 ha are already cropped).

Each one of the wineries has annual capacity of 1000 tons of wine. Their production is being realized both in the internal market (60 %) and also in 13 export markets throughout the whole world, including Canada, USA, Germany, the Scandinavian countries, Croatia, South Korea, etc.

Vineyards

Currently the company controls 350 ha of vineyards at the age of 32 from the varieties Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, which are situated next to the new winery, and 110 ha of vineyards from the variety Cabernet Sauvignon in Northern Bulgaria.

The Wines

Within the brands Chalet and Telish two pure varietal wines (Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot) and a varietal blend (Cabernet Sauvignon & Merlot) are produced by classic French technology. These wines are made from carefully selected grapes, sourced from the company vineyards in Southeast Bulgaria. The wines have a beautiful ruby-red colour. They are well balanced, with intense aromas of berries, ripe cherries and black fruits, elegantly combined with spicy notes. Besides the powerful fruity finish, they display a strong distinctive personality.

The first vintage for the new winery was in 2007 and the results will go to the market in the second part of the year.

For the past few years Telish Wine Cellar has taken part in some of the most important wine fairs and exhibitions, such as London International Wine Fair – UK, Foodex – Japan, ProWein – Germany, World Food Moscow – Russia, Vinisud – Montpellier, Mondial du Vin – Brussels, Fancy Food Show – New York, Wine for Asia – Singapore, Boston Wine Expo – USA, Seoul Food – South Korea, etc. These prestigious trade and consumer shows are both the touchstone for the new market trends, as well as a unique opportunity to gain new export markets.
