Melnik13 is one of the oldest products by Damianitza. It is created in the end of the 70′s, early 80’s years of twentieth century after a thorough process of research and comparison dozens of variants. We have no reliable information why this is the name of the product, but former employees shared that 13 was the number of the approved batch for a product.
The profile of this wine is built from different components in it:
- Broad Melnik vine adds piquancy and gives a feeling of something different;
- International varieties – Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon balance the aromas and the taste of the wine. They make it easier for consumers to understand and easier to adopt in the most diverse markets;
- Part of the wine was aged in oak which complements the complexity while the tannins from the oak “back up” and “tighten” the body;
With this product we reserve the same organoleptic profile, without significant differences among the different vintages. We try to meet the demand for those customers who prefer to have a product they know and not to risk new things that might not appeal to their taste. Despite the conservative conception of the wine, it does suffer some changes in its style, but very smooth and gradual, following the change of tastes of the majority of users.
In Bulgaria as well as some other countries in Europe, the wine already has loyal customers for about 30 years.
